More About The Joker
The character of the Joker first appeared in the Batman comics in 1940 and was portrayed as a violent, psychopathic trickster and master criminal. There have been many tales about how he got his distinctive look, but the most common story is that he fell into a vat of chemical waste which bleached his skin and turned his hair green. What with that and his bright red lips he looked liked a clown.
In the 1960’s Batman television series, the Joker was brilliantly portrayed by Cesar Romero. Who can forget his wicked, cackling laugh, his over-energetic and wild personality and his comedic pranks. An example is when he turned Gotham City’s water supply into jelly. In Tim Burton’s Batman, The Joker is played by Jack Nicholson who is a much more mysterious character. He still retained the sadistic, slightly demonic and funny personality that we saw with Cesar Romero, but was much more enigmatic. These two Jokers were much more faithful to the comic book version, whilst Heath Ledger’s version was more realistic, darker and less clownish.

I love batman and the last movie was the best I have ever seen. Too bad about Heath, he was a great actor and took the Joker to new heights in my opinion. Love the page setup and you have many resources to choose from and links to check out. I will be back…
