Poison Ivy Costume

Poison Ivy started out life as Pamela Isley, a very timid and shy botanist who was injected with poisons and toxins in an experiment which caused her to transform from a sweet personality into someone with violent mood swings. She starts her obsession with Batman after he stops her scheme of releasing suffocating spores into the atmosphere unless her demands are met. In later Batman comic issues she said that she only started a life of crime to fund her plant research.
Poison Ivy was memorably played by Uma Thurman in the 1997 movie, Batman & Robin movie, where she is a researcher in a Wayne Enterprises funded laboratory in South America. When she discovers the theft of certain plant toxins she starts to investigate and finds that her boss is involved. When she refuses to join her boss in his evil doings, he throws her into a shelf full of chemicals which transform her into an evil temptress who can make anyone fall in love with her. Batman and Robin have certainly got their work cut out for them when Mr Freeze, played by Arnold Schwarzenneger, and Poison Ivy teem up to freeze the earth and replace human life with her genetically enhanced plants.

I really have a hard time with her “plant research” explanation, but I do like the character Poison Ivy. When She and Mr. Freeze decide to double team Batman and Robin they are pretty formidable foes. I haven’t seen this costume before at any Halloween gatherings, but hope to see it this year. Good choice.

I truly love the left costume, very sexy. It’s one of the rare Batman costumes for women, I mean with batgirl. I have to say the Batman movie in which she appeared with Mr Freeze was certainly not the best of the series. Cool that the new series by Christpoher Nolan made it “serious” again.

So far I’m liking the Poison Ivy Adult (on the left) and the joker the best. Maybe because they are the most colorful that I’ve seen so far.
